Kosovo recently reached a significant milestone by allowing its citizens to travel to the European Union’s Schengen Zone without needing a visa, starting on January 1 this year. This good news continues as countries outside the EU, like the United Arab Emirates, also decided to lift visa restrictions for Kosovo citizens on January 11.

This happened after President Vjosa Osmani suggested it. Even though Kosovo’s passport is ranked 68th in the Henley Passport Index 2024 and allows access to only 74 visa-free destinations, Kosovo is building solid relationships globally through successful diplomacy and essential partnerships.
