PTA Takes Action Against Illegal Internet Service Provisioning

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were able to successfully carry out multiple raids as part of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) ongoing campaign to get rid of a large number of illegal internet service providers.

During the two searches in Lahore’s Muslim Town and on Multan Road, the equipment of illegal Internet service providers was found. A law was also enforced in Rawalpindi, which led to the finding and shutting down of an internet service provider that was still working even though its license had been revoked.

The success of the fight against illegal internet service providers can be attributed to the PTA’s constant dedication, constant monitoring, and constant attempts to stop illegal internet services. These efforts are necessary to stop tax fraud and the wrong reporting of income, which will reduce the loss to the national exchequer in the long run.

The PTA strongly suggests that customers only use telecommunications services from PTA-licensed operators. This will keep service from going out unexpectedly. Visit the website https://pta.gov.pk/en/industry-support/home/list-of-operators to see a list of approved operators.
