Renowned actor Mithun Chakraborty is currently undergoing treatment in Kolkata after experiencing an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) on Saturday morning. Hospital authorities have provided an official statement regarding the health of the veteran star.
According to the statement, Mithun experienced weakness in his right upper and lower limbs, leading to his admission to the hospital. As of now, he has received the necessary treatment and remains under the observation of a team of medical professionals. Apollo Hospital, Kolkata, issued a statement on Saturday evening, confirming the actor’s diagnosis and current condition.
“Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), a National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out, including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented, and has consumed a soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist, and a gastroenterologist,” the statement read.
Earlier, Mithun’s son, Mimoh, reassured concerned fans by stating, “He is 100% fine, and it’s a routine checkup.” Mithun was recently honored with the Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India. In a heartfelt video message, he expressed his gratitude towards his fans and well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Last week, Mithun was working on his film “Shastri” before this health incident occurred. As the veteran actor receives treatment, fans, and well-wishers are hoping for his speedy recovery.
