One of Apple’s iPhone Pro models, which is bigger and has more features, will not be cheap. If Apple decides to raise prices when the iPhone 15 Pro comes out later this year, it could be a rude awakening for customers. This is a sad fact about many other parts of modern life as well.
Someone posting anonymously on the Chinese microblogging service Weibo started this rumor (via MacRumors). The source says that the price hike is an attempt to make the iPhone 15 Pro even more different from the iPhone 15. But it’s not clear what kind of increase would happen if this rumor turns out to be true.

This is a common problem with leak sources, especially those with no history that is known to the public. At this point, you can’t tell if they’re telling the truth or not. In fact, there were a lot of rumours that the price of the iPhone 14 line would go up by around $100. Even though many people thought they would cost more than the iPhone 13 models, the prices for the new phones are the same as for the old ones. Even though it’s possible that some urban legends have some truth to them, for now, it’s best to treat everything with a healthy dose of scepticism. That is unless a more reliable source can back it up.
At the moment, an iPhone 14 starts at $799, while an iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899. Start prices for the iPhone 14 Pro are $999 and $1099 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. This means that if the prices of the Pro models went up even a little bit, people would have to pay more than $1,000 for any model they wanted to buy. Also, the more expensive Pro Max models, which can cost up to $1,599 and have 1 terabyte of storage space, would get closer and closer to the $2,000 mark.
Why would Apple raise iPhone 15 Pro prices?
Apple seems to want to raise the prices of its iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max products for a number of reasons. We have already heard rumours that the company wants to make the standard iPhone 15 and the Pro iPhone 15 more different from each other. Based on these rumours, we think this will mean that the Pro iPhone 15 will have more advanced features that are only available on it.
With these new features, it’s possible that the price should go up. It shouldn’t be a surprise that this makes the phones more expensive, and there have been rumours that Apple plans to sell the iPhone 15 Pro Max at a higher price. The Pro phones might have periscope zoom cameras, titanium sides, and solid-state button parts to make them more durable. When these features are added, they require more money to be spent on their development and implementation, which drives up the total cost.
If prices went up, Apple might also try to steer people toward the iPhone 15 Plus. It’s been said that the iPhone 14 Plus hasn’t sold well, and it’s been said that Apple is already thinking about a number of different ways to market the phone better.
If Apple raises the price of the iPhone 15 Pro range, which could cost an extra $100, people might think twice about buying the Plus version. On the other hand, a recent rumour said that the possibility of lowering the price is being thought about.
At this point, everything is just guesswork, and the questions we’ve asked won’t be answered for a long time. See our hub for information about the iPhone 15 and our iPhone 15 Ultra page for the latest rumours and leaks.
